Censorship is nothing new for horror fans, including video games. Unfortunately, it’s reared its head again with LKA’s upcoming Martha Is Dead, as Sony has requested that the game be censored for its release on the PlayStation.
Martha Is Dead‘s publisher, Wired Productions, took to Twitter to explain that as per Sony’s request, LKA has had to “modify the experience on the PS5 and PS4 versions [of Martha Is Dead]”. The resulting changes have unfortunately rendered “some elements” of the game no longer playable.
Neither Wired Productions or LKA have specified what content will have to be censored to appease Sony. “After over four years of passion and hard work, Developer LKA now requires extra time to make these unplanned changes.”
While Martha Is Dead will still launch digitally on February 24th for the PS4 and PS5, the physical version of the game will have to be delayed to a “yet to be disclosed date”. The physical edition of the game will still contain the bonus content promise, however.
The PC and Xbox versions of Martha Is Dead will be unaffected by these changes, and not censored.
