Lukas Nelson and Emily King to Reunite for Special Soho Sessions Concert

The Soho Sessions, an exclusive live music series, is set to virtually open its doors with a first-ever livestream featuring Lukas Nelson, Emily King, and surprise guests.

The show will take place Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. ET, and will be open to a select number of invite in-person guests. For those who don’t make it through the real door, though, it’ll also be streamed live via the platform Veeps, with access available for free by signing up on the Soho Sessions’ website.

The concert will also double as a fundraiser to help address the ongoing mental health crisis caused by the recent wildfires in Maui, Hawaii. Donations will be directed to the National Alliance on Mental Illness Hawaii, which offers recovery assistance, education, and support programs for those affected by the recent devastation.

Soho Sessions is a relatively new series, produced by RWE Partners, which launched in 2021. Held in an intimate New York City loft, the series aims to create singular shows by connecting musicians and artists from various genres, mediums, and generations. Past performers include Marcus King, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Randolph, Steve Earle, Larkin Poe, Louis Cato, and Brittney Spencer. All shows boast celebrated touring and session musician Larry Campbell, who serves as music director and leader of the Soho Sessions band.

This next installment of the Soho Sessions will actually reunite Nelson and King, who recently collaborated on “Bad Memory,” a track from King’s most recent album, Special Occasion, which was released in May. Nelson — who dropped a new album of his own, Sticks and Stones, in July — also previously showed his affinity for King’s music when he covered her song “Georgia” on his YouTube series, “ThingamaJAMS” back in 2020.
