Quick Answer: You can livestream the January 2024 Emmys with a free trial to DirecTV Stream or fuboTV.
After a five-month delay due to SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the 2023 Emmy Awards are finally happening… in 2024. The 75th edition of the awards show is happening at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, but, for any non-TV royalty, there are a couple of ways to tune in live (even if you don’t have cable). Below are a few ways to watch the Emmys live online in 2024, including a way to stream the awards show for free.
How to Watch the Emmys Online Without Cable
The January 2024 Emmys are airing live on Fox, but cord-cutters can tune in using any live TV streaming service that carries the channel. Below are some of the best live TV streaming services with Fox.
Stream the Emmys with DirecTV Stream
DirecTV Stream carries Fox in its Choice package, and offers a five-day free trial to start, making it our top choice for anyone looking to livestream the Emmys without cable. After the trial period, DTV Choice costs $83.99 a month for two months, and then the price goes up to $108.99 a month.
Stream the Emmys with fuboTV
Another great live TV streaming service that carries Fox for watching the Emmys (and offers a free trial) is fuboTV. The free trial lasts for a day, and then you’ll have to pay $74.99 a month to keep the service. Besides Fox, you get more than 180 channels in fubo’s most affordable Pro plan.
Stream the Emmys with Sling
Sling is a great live TV streaming option if you just want a select lineup of popular channels. The service’s 42-channel Blue package carries Fox for the Emmys, and it starts at just $40 a month. Even better: Sling is running a deal right now that gets you $25 off your first bill.
Stream the Emmys for Free
Want to livestream the January 2024 Emmys for free? Be sure to take advantage of one of the free trials from DirecTV Stream or fuboTV. Either free trial will let you watch the Emmys for free, as long as you cancel before the trial is over. You will need to enter a payment method when you sign up, but you won’t be charged anything if you cancel.
When Are the Emmys? January 2024 Date, Start Time
The 2023-in-2024 Emmys are happening tonight, Monday, Jan. 15. The Fox broadcast is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
January 2024 Emmys Host, Nominations, Presenters
The nominations for tonight’s Emmys ceremony were announced way back in July 2023. HBO hits Succession and The Last of Us were two of the most-nominated shows, racking up 27 and 24 nods, respectively. The White Lotus was close behind too with 23 nominations, followed by the Apple comedy Ted Lasso, which garnered 21 noms. The Bear and Daisy Jones & The Six also have a few nods each.
Tonight’s Emmys host Anthony Anderson, whose leading role on “black-ish” saw him nominated for seven consecutive years. Presenters (who aren’t nominated) are set to include Jason Bateman, Stephen Colbert, Joan Collins, Jon Cryer, Charlie Day, Jodie Foster, Marla Gibbs, Jon Hamm, Glenn Howerton, Ken Jeong, Rob McElhenney, Joel McHale, Holland Taylor, and Taylor Tomlinson.
Why Are the Emmys Happening in January? Will There Still Be 2024 Emmys?
The Emmys normally happen in September, but this past year the awards show was postponed to tonight due to the SAG-AFTRA (actors) and WGA (writers) strikes. The (official) 2024 Emmys are still scheduled to happen at their normal this September.
Be sure to grab a free trial to DirecTV Stream or fuboTV to watch tonight’s Emmys ceremony online for free.
