Kelly Clarkson needs to make her way to the Sphere to see U2!

On Friday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host and musician performed a cover of U2’s “Mysterious Love” during her Kellyoke segment.

“She’s the wave, she turns the tide/She sees the man inside the child,” Clarkson sang. “It’s all right, it’s all right, it’s all right/She moves in mysterious ways, yeah.”

“Mysterious Love” was originally featured on one of the group’s biggest albums, Achtung Baby, which dropped in 1991. The Clarkson rendition arrives the same day as the Grammy Awards announced that U2 will perform at the awards show from the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The group’s residency — focused on Achtung Baby — is still ongoing and will wrap up in March. So far, U2 is the only group to have performed a show at the Sphere, though Phish is slated to become the second group with four nights of performances beginning in April.

“The Sphere show has been in the works for a long time. We don’t want to let people down, least of all our audience… the truth is we miss them as much as they appear to miss us,” U2 said in a statement when the residency was first announced.

Clarkson last performed a cover of U2’s “Pride (In the Name of Love)” to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Back in 2021, Clarkson sang “Beautiful Day,” and the year prior, she performed “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” amid the Black Lives Matter protests.

Earlier this month, the singer also delivered a tender performance of Miley Cyrus’ “Used to Be Young.”
