The singer pays tribute to the City of Love in Paris-inspired video
Selena Gomez has Paris on her mind with new single “Love On.” This is Gomez’s first new song of 2024, further teasing a new album of music from the star.
Produced by the Monsters & Strangerz and Isaiah Tejada, “Love On” is a flirty track about new love, one that is specifically blossoming in Paris. At one point she poses: “Why are we conversing over this steak tartare/When we can be somewhere other than here making out in the back of a car?”
According to a statement, the song is inspired by Gomez’s recent experiences in the French city. The video also reflects her love of France.
Last year, Gomez’s released the Top 20 hit “Single Soon.” She previously collaborated with Rema on a remix of the Nigerian artist’s “Calm Down.” Following her 2020 album Rare, Gomez released the Spanish-language EP Revelación. Recently, the singer stated that her next album she has been working on may be her last so she can work on other projects.
The multi-faceted star has been keeping busy outside of recording new music. Her Hulu series Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for a fourth season; Gomez was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her role on the show. Last month, she was confirmed to portray Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic; later this year, she will star alongside Zoe Saldana in the musical Emilia Perez, which was the project that brought Gomez to Paris in the first place.
