Productions Signs On As Sponsor of Beyond Hollywood International Film Festival April 16, 2024 by admin

Film Composer and Author Shie Rozow of WeUAO’s “The Last of the Winthrops” to Lead Industry Panel “Composing For Filmmakers” During Festival

Los Angeles, April 16, 2024 – We Unite As One (WeUAO), producer of the critically-acclaimed film The Last of the Winthrops, winner of best documentary at the 2023 edition of Beyond Hollywood International Film Festival (BHIFF), will be back again this year as a featured sponsor of the event.

Touted as “Not Your Average Film Festival,” BHIFF is scheduled from April 25-28th at Regal LA Live and Los Angeles Film School, offering four days of networking, panels, and screenings, culminating with an awards ceremony on the evening of April 28th.

As part of the sponsorship, The Last of the Winthrops’ music composer Shie Rozow, author of the new book Every Note Tells A Story, will lead the industry panel themed Composing For Filmmakers with Shie Rozow, scheduled for 5:10 – 5:50 pm on April 26th at Los Angeles Film School (6363 Sunset Boulevard Los Angeles, California 90028), followed by a book signing. Tickets available here: https://filmfreeway.com/bhiff/tickets

“I was fortunate to discover Shie Rozow, who managed everything from composing and handling musicians to music editing for the film score. When I expressed my desire for a cinematic feel, Shie exceeded my expectations and delivered a world-class score beyond my wildest dreams,” says WeUAO founder Viviane Winthrop.

Composer and music editor Shie Rozow has taken a different path than most, leading him to work on over 100 feature films including major international blockbusters The Flash, The Lost City, and Hustle & Flow. As music editor, has earned 17 Golden Reel Award Nominations, winning for his work on Chicago (as assistant music editor), IMAX: Deep Sea, and Wu Tang: An American Saga.

Equally comfortable working in film and television, Rozow has contributed his talent to hundreds of hours of TV including Desperate Housewives, The CW’s Stargirl,  along with Amazon’s anthology series Welcome to the Blumhouse and Shudders’ Creepshow. He has earned Telly Awards for his scores to Matt and Maya, Lost Time, One Day You’ll Go Blind, and Body Language: Bill Shannon. Rozow’s Pencraft Award winning new book Every Note Tells A Story will be available at the BHIFF panel event.

Last year, The Last of the Winthrops had its West Coast premiere at BHIFF, and most recently was named best documentary at the sixth edition of the DaVinci International Film Festival held at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The Last of the Winthrops explores the powerful revelations of a woman (Viviane Winthrop), who reclaims her sense of self after taking an Ancestry DNA test. At age 49, Viviane must confront the seismic truth that her dad, Reginald Winthrop, who could literally trace his heritage to the founders of America, was not her biological father. When Reginald and his beautiful French Canadian wife Claire have their “miracle child,” Viviane is raised as an heir to the historic Winthrop exceptionalism.

Moving fluidly between past and present through archival footage, private letters and recordings, the film follows Viviane on an epic journey across five countries and hundreds of years to embrace her new identity, resolving powerful themes about the relationship between bloodlines, love, belonging and family.  In the film, Viviane grows up thinking she is the only child of a Protestant father and a Catholic mother, but discovers she is also one of nine children in a Sephardic Jewish family. Over the course of the film, she learns that family is who you love and who loves you.

Director, writer and producer Viviane Winthrop was born in Montreal, Canada. Her parents moved to Sedona, Arizona when she was a teenager. Although her father was a professional actor and her mother a piano teacher, Viviane chose a career in dentistry. After 25 years as a dentist, she began to pursue her dream as a film director. Her directorial debut The Last of the Winthrops is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple iTunes, and many major streaming platforms. Launched as the first production under the WeUAO banner, the film won Best Documentary at the 2023 Beyond  Hollywood International Film Festival, and was featured at the Global Entertainment Showcase during the French Riviera Film Festival in Cannes, France.

Launched in 2019, We Unite As One LLC (WeUAO) is a full-service production company based in Los Angeles that develops and produces fiction and nonfiction films. Formed by a passionate group of creative professionals with diverse backgrounds in the entertainment business, WeUAO provides development, research, production, post-production, editorial, marketing and distribution. Its team brings passion and a conscious-driven mindset to every project.
