Sometimes we forget just how much Nike dominates the world of athletic apparel. Trends ebb and flow — maybe the three-stripe brand gets some time in the limelight (like they have right now) or a new athletic label catches our attention — but Nike is always in our footwear and workout clothing rotation.
But, unlike Levi’s with its eternally-stylish 501s, Nike keeps our attention with a stream of fresh new designs and re-releases of their classics. In other words, there is a lot to choose from when shopping The Swoosh — and we end up with a mountain of it in our closet. Recently, our commerce team dug through all that to pick out some of our favorites; the best Nike products that we recommend to everyone. Check them out below.
The Best Nike Products to Buy Right Now
1. Nike Killshot 2
Although futuristic looks dominate Nike’s current catalog, they also still know how to do minimal classics. These Killshot 2s are one such pair, showcasing a retro style that I end up reaching for regularly. Mine are pretty beat up after so many wears, but they were great dressy sneakers back when they were new: I used to love teaming them with slacks and a knit polo. Now, they typically accompany baggy jeans and tees. — Oscar Hartzog, Commerce Editor
2. Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Sneakers
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5s are my new favorite sneakers, hands down. Right out of the box, I put them to the test: I hiked up rugged trails in dusty, uneven terrain; I ran miles on concrete around Los Angeles; I even dressed them up to go to happy hour. Thanks to their stylish look, breathable construction, and built-in “Zoom Air cushioning,” my feet always feel comfortable and supported, no matter what I’m doing. Put simply, you can’t go wrong with this pair of Nikes. Just buy ’em. — John Lonsdale, Commerce Editor
3. Nike Cortez Textile
New comfiest shoe alert — If I’m being honest, I bought these Cortez Textiles because I was tired of walking out of my house in Adidas… only to see my neighbor wearing the exact same shoe. The Cortez made my ‘everyday walking shoe’ game feel slightly more unique, and I didn’t have to try that hard to switch it up. Aside from the much-needed footwear diversity, these are the most comfortable pairs of casual shoes I currently own. They require no time to break in, and they’re so light you’ll forget you’re not just wearing air. — Jessica Seib, VP Commerce
4. Nike AeroSwift Dri-FIT ADV 2″
I started buying men’s running shorts last year after seeing several fashion influencers style men’s athletic shorts with everyday clothing. Ironically, these two-inch Nike AeroSwift Dri-FIT ADVs do fit women a lot better than “women’s” shorts. While I still actually use mine for running, I do love that they offer a roomier fit and more give in the leg areas for the same dimensions than similar Nike silhouettes that are designed specifically for women. They are light but still shorter in length so that you’re able to be comfortable without too much extra fabric. Extremely moisture-wicking and light to the touch — virtually no runners chafing as a result of these. Highly recommend. — Jessica Seib, VP Commerce
5. Nike Everyday Plus Cushioned Socks
Sure, Nike is known for its well-designed sneakers and apparel, but don’t skip the brand’s basics and accessories. I recently decided to retire my old, worn-out socks and put in a bulk order of Nike’s Everyday Plus socks. (In short, no more searching for a specific pair lost to laundry days — I just wanted to be able to grab and go.) I love the way they support my feet, whether I’m wearing them with workout sneakers or need a little extra fabric between my feet and, say, my stiff loafers. — John Lonsdale, Commerce Editor
