La gente want reggaeton — and Ryan Castro and Blessd are bringing it. On Monday, the Colombian musicians, and frequent collaborators, announced that they’ll be hitting the road and “representing our people and culture” with their Ay Bendito Ghetto Tour later this year.
“After seeing how our fans received our tour in Colombia together, I am looking forward to sharing the stage with Blessd once again,” Castro said in a statement. “It has always been a dream of mine for my music to also be heard outside of my country and with this being my third tour in the U.S, shows that I am successfully exporting Colombian reggaeton to key markets.”
On Instagram, the pair of artists promised that the tour will be a “fucking amazing party.”
Blessd and Castro will commence their tour in the Bay Area on Oct. 31, before stopping in cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, and San Antonio, before concluding the run of shows in Orlando on Dec. 1. Tickets for the 15-city run go on sale to the general public on July 12 at 10 a.m. local time, though fans can access a presale starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. using the code BENDITOGHETTO.
The tour’s title plays on both of their nicknames, including Castro’s latest album, El Cantante del Ghetto. “We have proven that through our collaborative work, great results come about,” added Blessd. “Both our teams are very close and have a real brotherhood bond because we all know each other and have worked together in the past, so the shows are going to be amazing.”
Castro and Blessd have released more than a handful of songs together, including 2020’s “Lejanía,” 2022’s “Quien TV Remix,” “Niña de Mis Sueños,” “Fumando,” and “Envigado,” and last year’s “Ojitos Rojos” remix. “Envigado” was included on Castro’s El Cantante Del Ghetto album, which dropped in May. Meanwhile, Blessd dropped two albums: BlessDeLuxury in May and Si Sabe in January.
