The roster of up-and-coming country artists ready to get into the spotlight is long. It is a hard scene to break into, but once you do — and other country artists start to notice — you know you’re doing something right.
Tigirlily Gold is a country music duo who have broken in, and stars are taking notice. The duo recently won ACM New Duo/Group of the Year.
The pairing of sisters stopped by to chat with Evan Paul on Taste of Country Nights: On Demand, and we had a little something up our sleeve for the interview.
We’d also recently spoken to Kelsea Ballerini and asked her who she thought the spotlight would shine on next in country music. She said Tigirlily Gold.
“They’re incredible, and they’re so nice,” Ballerini gushed of the newcomers. “I see them everywhere. They don’t even look tired!”
“I don’t know how they do that, I’m wondering how they do that — I would like to know,” she said with a laugh.
She capped off the gushing hydrant with: “They’re really incredible, I’m a huge fan of them.”
After asking Tigirlily Gold who they look up to in country music and hearing them say Ballerini, we played that moment from Ballerini’s interview back for them.
They were taken aback.
“Oh my gosh, I just got chills. Why is she so nice? I love her so much!” they responded, adding:
“We keep running into her and she’s so kind. That is so cool to see someone we look up to saying something about us, I’m like, ‘Are you sure you have the right band?'”
The sisters admit it’s so valuable to have a chart-topping hitmaker like Ballerini in your corner.
“She’s been in the industry for probably 10 years at this point, and it’s so awesome to have people you admire like that for a long time and now they’re actually giving you advice, and kind of taking us under their wings.”
