The ultimate and most significant party in Nashville transpired this weekend at the Josie Music Awards beginning at the CMA Theater in The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum on Saturday followed by award ceremonies on Sunday at the Grand Ole Opry House. Indie artists, musicians, rockers, friends, and family, gathered together as they followed their dreams or came in support of the dreams of others.
One such collective was the boutique New York record label Tribeca Records including President John “SohoJohnny” Pasquale, signed artists Bill Gulino (and family), Patty Jarman, and John McCann (and family), from the nostalgic rock band THE AMERICAN RELICS. Also from the Tribeca family composer Randy Edelman served as special presenter at the CMA Theater and performed on the stage of the Opry after being honored with The Legendary Songwriters Award.”
Other friends who showed support included rapper Twizm Whyte Piece, TRAX Record label President Screamin’ Rachael, Suzanne Tripaldi from the camp of Tribeca Artist Irene Michaels (last year’s winner of Best Song of the Year), Pete Trabucco from WWDB AM Radio, Philadelphia, and others. All of the nominees and supporters walked the Red Carpet and enjoyed the many performers which included Buddy Jewel, Tiffany, Mr. Talkbox and more.
The Grand Ole Opry is considered the “Home of Country Music.” The Josie Music Awards is the most presitgious music award show in the independent music industry, which brings in thousands from around the globe yearly to celebrate as a privately owned, licensed company, without attaching the event to other events in the music industry. The JMA’s is the ultimate recognition of the talent in the independent music business.
It was a weekend of Nashville music, excitement and adventure. Both events were totally sold out including the 4,372 Opry seats. It was a time to network, to meet new people, and to appreciate a lot of good music from many different genres. Special thank you to founders and hosts Tinamarie Passantino and Josie Passantino-Boone for their excellent job and their passion and belief in the independent music industry.
