After making the final three, Pascal Ibgui made the shocking decision to quit The Golden Bachelorette. He told Joan Vassos he wasn’t in love with her, but did he have another reason for leaving? Fans want him as the next Golden Bachelor. The ultimatum he revealed to accept the gig hints at the true reason for dumping Joan. Keep reading to find out his demand.
Pascal Ibgui Only Interested In Younger Women For Golden Bachelor
ABC had yet to confirm if there even will be a second season of The Golden Bachelor after Gerry Turner’s mark on the franchise. The retiree, now 71, got engaged to Theresa Nist in the season finale but divorced after a quickie TV wedding. Theresa recently opened up about the real reason for the split.
The bad press might make the network gun-shy about trying the experimental spinoff a second time. But Bachelor Nation viewers are already choosing their favorite eliminated Golden Bachelorette contestants as the next Golden Bachelor lead. One possibility is Pascal Ibgui, the 69-year-old French native who owns a lucrative salon in Chicago. He spoke to Us Weekly after the Men Tell All special about what it would take for him to accept the role if offered.
He revealed a surprising demand. Pascal isn’t interested in dating women Joan’s age or older. “The age [has] got to be lower. Yes, I’m old, but I don’t go out with a 72-year-old woman,” he said. While he didn’t say exactly how much lower, he mentioned Joey Graziadei’s fiance, Kelsey Anderson.
“When you’re in your 20s like Joey [Graziadei] and Kelsey [Anderson] … you don’t have a pot to pee in. You don’t have a mortgage, you don’t have a home, you rent, you don’t have a car, you take Uber, you are in between jobs, you’re trying to find an identity.”
But at his age, he has a life established in Chicago that he can’t just pack up and move. Joan Vassos was clear to all of her contestants that she wouldn’t move away from her family no matter what.
He Thinks The Senior Dating Show Needs A Revamp
Pascal Ibgui told Us Weekly that location is a huge problem with the senior franchise. He suggested revamping the Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette by area.
“I think the concept of The Golden Bachelor needs to be modified and make it The Golden Bachelor of Chicago, The Golden Bachelor of New York, Golden Bachelor of L.A., Golden Bachelor of Miami, of Dallas.”
Do you think Pascal has a point about the older generation already having roots down and being unwilling to uproot them? Sound off about his demand in the comments.
