Billie Eilish Hit in the Face by an Object Thrown From Crowd

The musician is one of many artists who have been pelted with objects while performing

Billie Eilish was hit in the face by an object that looks to be a blue bracelet while performing in Glendale, Arizona on Friday. There has been a growing number of disturbing incidents where concertgoers have been throwing things at artists while they perform onstage, which can be dangerous and has physically harmed artists recently.

On Friday, Eilish was sitting at the edge of the stage performing her tender, Oscar-winning “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack. As she sang with her eyes closed, someone threw what appears to be a blue bracelet at her, which hit Eilish’s face, as video footage taken during the concert shows. In the clip, the singer quickly turns her face to the side and winces.

She then looks back towards the audience with a look of disappointment, but ever the professional she doesn’t miss a beat and continues to sing the song.  As she soldiers on, she picks up the bracelet and tosses it aside. Thankfully, Eilish appears to be OK following being pelted in the face, but others have been seriously injured, like Bebe Rexha, who needed three stitches after she got hit by an iPhone someone threw at her face while performing in 2023. Last month, Zach Bryan had to pause his concert in Portland, after a cylindrical object hit his right leg, and just days before during Bryan’s same tour run, his guitarist was hit by something thrown onstage.

Eilish has previously addressed this deplorable trend of fans throwing things at artists while they are performing.

“I don’t know why this is, like, new. People just get excited and it can be dangerous,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. “I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there it blows. But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something.”
