Morgan Wallen’s ‘I’m the Problem’ Album Debuts at Number One

The country star’s new LP earns the biggest chart numbers of the year

Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem bows at Number One on the Billboard 200 chart. The country star’s latest LP is also the year’s biggest album debut to date, with 493,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. for the week ending May 22, Billboard reports.

I’m the Problem is Wallen’s third Number One-debuting album, following 2023’s One Thing at a Time and 2021’s Dangerous: The Double Album. Both of those albums appear in the Top 20, with One Thing at a Time at Number Four and Dangerous slipping a spot to Number 12 in this week’s chart.

Of I’m the Problem’s 493,000 album units earned for this week’s albums chart, 357,000 are from album streams — the equivalent of 462.63 million on-demand official streams of the LP’s 37 tracks, according to Luminate. It’s the largest streaming week for any album in 2025 to date. With I’m the Problem selling 133,000 copies in its first week, it also marks Wallen’s biggest sales week ever, and the biggest sales week for any country album thus far in 2025. The last country album to have a bigger sales week was Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which debuted with 168,000 copies sold the week it debuted in April 2024.

Eight of the album’s singles that preceded the LP’s release made the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Six of the tracks became Top 10s, with “Love Somebody” bowing at Number One in November and the title track debuting at Number Two in February.

Elsewhere on the albums chart, SZA’s chart-topping SOS moves up a spot to Number Two, with 47,000 units earned. BTS member Jin’s Echo bows at Number Three, earning 43,000 units. Rounding out the Top Five is Wallen’s aforementioned One Thing at a Time, which holds steady at Number Four and earned 42,000 units; and Kendrick Lamar’s GNX leaps from Number Seven to Number Five with 41,000 units earned.
