‘Leprechaun Revenge’ – Watch Bloody New ‘Leprechaun’ Fan Film from ‘Terrifier’ Producers!

It’s been seven years since the last installment in the Leprechaun franchise, with director Steven Kostanski’s Leprechaun Returns putting a bloody new coat of paint on the saga back in 2018. While we wait for the character to return to the screen, the production team behind the Terrifier series and Stream have made their own fan film tribute to the Leprechaun series.

Fuzz on the Lens Productions have just released 10-minute short Leprechaun Revenge, a reimagined continuation of the original 1993 classic that serves as a direct sequel.

Mark Holton reprises his role as Ozzie in Leprechaun Revenge, with Linden Porco reprising his role as the Leprechaun from Kostanski’s aforementioned Leprechaun Returns.

Maren Altman plays Ozzie’s long-lost niece, who makes a mysterious return into his life.

In Leprechaun Revenge, “After surviving the horrors of a malevolent creature obsessed with his gold, an older and reclusive Ozzie Jones has spent decades trying to suppress the trauma of his encounter with the Leprechaun. Now haunted by hallucinations and living in isolation, his compound is sealed with boarded windows, homemade charms, and arcane relics—his only defense against a nightmare that he’s convinced isn’t fully over.

“Will his defenses be enough when the Leprechaun comes for his revenge?”

Director, writer and producer Michael Leavy said in a statement, “The Leprechaun franchise holds a special place in my heart—it was the first horror film I ever saw, and it instantly made me want to become a filmmaker. As a lifelong fan, I know this series inside and out, and I wanted to create something I know we all miss. This spinoff is pure passion rooted in what we all love about the films —a love letter to the original, paying homage to the franchise’s unique charm and tone, with our own darker, modern twist. So wherever this may lead, I think one thing is clear that we need a new Leprechaun film to fill the giant void in the horror genre.”

“If we were ever given the opportunity to make a true feature length Leprechaun film, it would honestly be a dream come true,” adds co-director, writer and producer Jason Leavy. “Me and my brother grew up watching these movies—they were a big part of our childhood and what got us into storytelling in the first place. The chance to contribute to something that means so much to us would be an incredible honor. We’ve had ideas for years that haven’t been explored yet and we’d love to bring to life, while still staying true to what fans love about the series.”

Mark Holton said in a statement of his own, “I jumped at the chance. Michael Leavy is one of my favorite directors and there’s a reason why! You can see it in his work. Having worked with the Terrifier team on Stream, I knew it would be outrageously good and it was also outrageously fun! The way this team works together is as good as I have ever seen. They all know what each other is thinking ahead of time and they are on it! The franchise for Leprechaun would be in great hands.”

Linden Porco adds, “When I did my first Leprechaun, I was brought into the Lep family by the fans. The fans are what make our jobs worth-while and who better to do the next one with than Fuzz on the Lens Productions! I think it’s time for the fans to have another Leprechaun movie and the Terrifier team, Fuzz on the Lens, are the perfect match to deliver the franchise what it ultimately deserves. I’ve seen it myself. It’s bloody brilliant.”

What’s the latest on the official franchise? It had been announced back in June of 2023 that a new Leprechaun movie was in the works at Lionsgate, with Felipe Vargas (Milk Teeth) being hired to “reimagine” the franchise. Vargas, however, more recently departed the project.

Whoever ends up taking over as director, the next Leprechaun movie will be the ninth installment in the franchise. Mike Van Waes wrote the screenplay, with Roy Lee producing.
