This week, Oprah announced her 116th Book Club pick with Bruce Holsinger’s Culpability. It’s a timely story that tackles many contemporary topics, though the book itself is set in the near future.
Culpability follows five members of the Cassidy-Shaw family on a week long vacation they’ve taken to Chesapeake Bay. They’re there following a a terrible accident where their 17-year-old son was behind the wheel of a self-driving van that hit another car, killing the elderly couple inside. Each member of the Cassidy-Shaw family has a secret that ties them to the accident and their vacation will begin to unravel them. It is a critical look at technology and artificial intelligence.
