In a shocking move, HGTV canceled seven fan-favorite shows in the last two months. The cancellations included New Kids On the Block singer Jonathan Knight’s Farmhouse Fixer. Also on the chopping block were Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas. Heather Rae El Moussa broke her silence on the shocking cancellation and opened up about her future with the network.
HGTV Suffers Massive Loss Of Viewers
NBC and CBS sent shockwaves through television audiences earlier this year when they canceled some of their most popular shows, including NBC’s Found. But the cancellations went beyond NBC and CBS. Cable channel HGTV canceled five shows in June: Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block, and Izzy Does It.
News broke earlier this week that two other popular shows aren’t returning for more seasons. Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas won’t return to HGTV.
The mass cancellations sparked fears for the future of HGTV. The situation became even dire after Deadline reported shocking statistics about HGTV’s viewership. According to the data the outlet shared, HGTV has lost almost half of its viewers since 2017.

Heather Rae El Moussa Breaks Silence After Cancellations
Us Weekly caught up with Heather Rae El Moussa after the cancellation news broke. At the time, she revealed that she hadn’t been informed that The Flipping El Moussas had been canceled.
“I do know they are going through big internal changes, so I’m not quite sure what’s going on there,” she said.
The former Selling Sunset star added, “I can say how much I’ve enjoyed being on HGTV.”

She Teases Future Of The Flipping El Moussas & The Flip Off
Heather Rae El Moussa has appeared on The Flip Off, Flipping 101, and The Flipping El Moussas with husband Tarek El Moussa. The second season of The Flipping El Moussas aired in May. It reportedly won’t return for a second season, but the star remains hopeful about the show’s future.
“Anything could happen. To be honest, it was a great show and it still is a great show,” Heather Rae El Moussa said about The Flipping El Moussas continuing.
Us Weekly reported that The Flip Off, which stars Heather Rae El Moussa, Tarek El Moussa, and his ex-wife, Christina Haack, was renewed for a second season. Heather Rae El Moussa said she didn’t have an update on that. But added, “I do know the fans would love to see it back and all three of us would love to see it back.”
But she’s not worried about her future if HGTV does go under. “There’s so many other shows that I would love to do. I would love to get into hosting and I’m definitely open to [new opportunities],” she said about continuing her television career.
