‘Decibel’ Trailer – Art and Technology Collide in Sci-Fi Horror Film

Decibel is turning up the volume for anyone who hasn’t been listening to the pitfalls of AI.

The sci-fi horror thriller hits Apple TV and Fandango on November 7, followed by Prime Video on December 1 via Chroma.

It follows a struggling singer-songwriter who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a tech-obsessed music producer. Her art and life are put in peril as she is forced to help create the perfect AI music algorithm.

Zac Locke directs from a script by Stephen Christensen and Matt Wise.

Aleyse Shannon (Black Christmas 2019), Stefanie Estes (Soft & Quiet), and Colby Groves star.

“Decibel is exactly the kind of daring, inventive story Chroma stands for,” said Chroma VP Ahbra Perry. “It’s thrilling, original, and creatively fearless. The film is the perfect way to kick off our slate of new releases.”

“We set out to make a film that’s as thrilling as it is thought-provoking, exploring what happens when art and technology collide, and Chroma is the perfect partner to bring that vision to audiences,” Locke added. “Our team is incredibly honored to be among their first releases, and we can’t wait for people to experience Decibel.”

Earning the Best Sound Award at FilmQuest, the film features original songs by Caitlin Scholl and music production by Groves. Shannon performs her own vocals, all of which were recorded live on set.
