    5 Must-Own Horror Releases Coming to Physical Media in January 2026


    Streaming may be convenient, but physical media is forever.

    Here are five upcoming horror releases you don’t want to miss this month.


    Shelby Oaks – January 6

    Shelby Oaks will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on January 6 via Neon.

    YouTube film critic Chris Stuckmann makes his feature debut on the the supernatural horror movie, which incorporates found footage elements in a traditional narrative.

    A film crew uncovers a disturbing new lead in a woman’s obsessive search for her missing sister, steering her into a terrifying mystery at the hands of an unknown evil.

    Camille Sullivan, Brendan Sexton III, Keith David, Robin Bartlett, Michael Beach, Sarah Durn, and Derek Mears star. Mike Flanagan produces.

    Joe Lipsett wrote in his review, “Even if the film’s closing moments are something of a fumble, the scenes set in the spooky cabin, as well as the film’s strong first hour, confirm that Stuckmann is one to watch, particularly when the first time writer/director sets out on his own path.”


    1408 – January 13

    1408 will be released on SteelBook 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital exclusively from Amazon on January 13 via Lionsgate.

    Based on the Stephen King short story, the 2007 horror film stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.

    The three-disc set includes both the 104-minute theatrical version and the 112-minute director’s cut in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

    A man writing a book about the paranormal travels to New York and stays in a hotel room that has been said to be responsible for the death of all the guests that come to stay.

    Mikael Håfström (Escape Plan) directs from a script by Matt Greenberg (Halloween H20) and Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood).


    Evil Dead Rise – January 13

    Evil Dead Rise will be released on 4K Ultra HD on January 13 via Arrow Video.

    The 2023 fifth installment in the Evil Dead franchise is written and directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground).

    Beth’s surprise reunion with her sister Ellie is interrupted by an earthquake that shakes the foundation of her apartment building. Amidst the rubble, Ellie’s kids discover a secret vault hidden in the basement, inside which they find an ancient book bound in flesh and inked in human blood – the Necronomicon.

    As the building’s residents are possessed one by one and the evil rises floor to floor, the family get-together becomes a fight for survival.

    Cabin Fever – January 13

    Cabin Fever will be released on SteelBook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital on January 13, available exclusively from Lionsgate Limited for $34.99.

    Directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Thanksgiving), the unrated version of  the 2002 horror comedy debut is presented in 4K with Dolby Vision.

    For five friends barreling down a mountain road toward a remote cabin, adulthood looms and one last summer of decadence awaits.     Donnie Darko – January 23

    Donnie Darko will be released on 4K Ultra HD on January 23 via Mutant Mediabook.

    Both the theatrical and director’s cuts of the 2001 cult classic have been restored in 4K from the original camera negatives, supervised by writer-director Richard Kelly and cinematographer Steven Poster, with Dolby Vision HDR and original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audio.

    The two-disc set features a 32-page mediabook housed inside a rigid slipcase featuring artwork Greg Ruth and a layout by Craig Oldham. The first pressing of 2,000 includes an exclusive, numbered slipcase.

    After narrowly escaping a bizarre accident, a troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a man in a large rabbit suit who manipulates him to commit a series of crimes.

    Jake Gyllenhaal stars with Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, Mary McDonnell, Katharine Ross, Patrick Swayze, Noah Wyle, James Duval, and Seth Rogen in his film debut.
