The View co-hosts are often criticized for their up-and-down behavior. They can be overly sweet and accommodating, or they can be rude, opinionated, and off-putting. It can be too much for viewers who have noted that they tend to want to change the channel. Now, the focus is on Sara Haines and her newfound hosting independence. Keep reading for more details on what fans have to say.
Sara Haines Flaunts Newfound Independence
As with the other View co-hosts, Sara Haines struggles daily. Sometimes, fans love what she has to say, as she does make valid points. Then again, she is known to ruffle some feathers, which is the whole point of the morning talk show. It was created in 1997 to bring women of all different political ideologies together and allow them to express their views. There was supposed to be no judgment but rather a safe space, yet that was not always the case. It appears that viewers were struggling with Sara and her seemingly becoming too co-dependent.

However, she seems to have found her voice, and it is all because co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin went on maternity leave. Everyone knew she would be exiting at some point in February, but she went into labor before filming. Yet, no one seemed to realize how much Alyssa may have held Sara back. One viewer shared this thought:
- Sarah has been spunky and clear with her opinions! This is the Sarah I love. Here’s the question: what changed? Does she shine best when not up against Alyssa? Did someone talk to her and let her know she needs to get it together? I really like listening to her when she is her old self.
Although Alyssa’s absence may be a factor, other View fans had varying thoughts. They felt that Sara Haines was clearer and more concise due to her passion for the subjects at hand. When she cares about the topics, she finds herself and is respected.
Sara Is Back
The Newton, Iowa, journalist has served on several shows as a host, along with her time on The View. Sara Haines has been nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards and is a proud wife and mother. However, being a co-host on the ABC morning talk show is a different beast, which she has learned. Viewers have just as many opinions as the hosts, but they are praising Sara’s newfound independence. She seems to be a new person in the wake of Alyssa’s absence, but not everyone is being completely complimentary:
- The only thing I liked from her last week was when she said Jill Zarin had too much plastic surgery, which is true!!
- I think she was truly passionate about the subjects that she was talking about this week. She was super clear because she knows how she feels about those things
- She’s an independent centrist. She doesn’t stand for anything. Literally the type of person MLK warns about. She was more entertaining last week (comments about Jill Zarin in particular), though.
- Imo Sara and Alyssa come across as strangely co-dependent on air.
- See the difference without Alyssa?😭
It will be interesting to see what happens with Sara when Alyssa does return. Do you believe that she is a different person without Alyssa at the table, or is she just more passionate about the current topics? Let us know in the comments below, and watch The View mornings on ABC.
