The co-hosts on The View don’t always see eye-to-eye with each other. While they don’t always agree on various “hot topics,” they sometimes disagree about their protocol on the show. Recently, this became apparent when Whoopi Goldberg didn’t like a question Joy Behar wanted to ask a guest.
Two Guests Wanted To Share A Certain Challenge During A Recent Visit To The View
Over the years, viewers have seen a number of co-hosts on The View. Joy Behar was one of the original co-hosts on the talk show since the series made its debut in 1997. Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg joined the series in 2007.
Recently, the co-hosts had not just one, but two, special guests who sat down to speak with the co-hosts. During the episode, they wanted to share a special challenge with viewers.
Actor Mark Wahlberg was on the show on Ash Wednesday. At the time, he was promoting his “Pray 40” Lent challenge for the Hallow prayer and meditation app, alongside Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ on The Chosen. Both he and Roumie appeared with ashes on their forehead during their appearance.
As Lent is a time of penance and reflection, Wahlberg looked at his own past. He shared, “I’ve been very fortunate. I grew up in the real world. I got into a lot of trouble when I was younger.” However, he expressed, “There were pivotal times in my life where people came to me and expressed the importance of faith to keep me on the right track.”
The actor shared that he was inspired to help kids avoid some of the mistakes he made when he was younger. This caused Behar to ask Wahlberg what the worst thing he had ever done was.
Joy Behar Still Got An Answer To Her Question
Goldberg took issue with this question. Feeling he had a right to privacy, she shared, “What? He doesn’t have to answer it!”
Despite Goldberg coming to his defense, Wahlberg answered Behar’s question. He shared, “Well, that’s a long list. … The worst thing that I did was probably follow others when I should have been more of a leader, but that’s very difficult to do at a young age when you’re easily influenced and in a bad area.” Behar commended him, saying this was a “Good answer.”
As noted by NewsNation, Behar’s question could have been seen as a nod to the actor’s legal troubles over the years. The outlet noted that Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder, but pleaded guilty to felony assault, in 1988. Serving 45 days in prison, he filed for a pardon in Massachusetts in 2014. However, he later dropped his pardon request.
