Watch Demi Lovato Showcase Her Vocal Prowess With ‘Ghost’ on ‘Fallon’

Demi Lovato stopped by The Tonight Show to showcase her emotive song “Ghost” and to chat with host Jimmy Fallon about her recent wedding and her album, It’s Not That Deep.

For the performance, Lovato was joined by a pianist, who accompanied her on the lovelorn ballad. “The one thing that I’m scared of/ Is that your love could be temporary,” Lovato belts on the song. “I could die just looking at you/ But if you go before I do/ I hope you flicker the lights/ And send a chill down my spine so cold/ Wanna be haunted for life by your ghost.”

Lovato sat down with Fallon to chat about her album, released last year, and her new cookbook, One Plate at a Time. She also talked about her wedding, which included a performance by the Goo Goo Dolls‘ John Rzeznik of their favorite song “Iris.”

“We were so grateful to have him perform,” she said. “It was a no-brainer. We definitely wanted that song as our first dance, and he absolutely smashed it… There was a sing-along moment. It was really, really cute and sweet.”

Lovato said she also enlisted Paris Hilton to DJ the wedding. “She’s so iconic,” Lovato said. “And it was electric.”

The singer also discussed appearing on stage with the Jonas Brothers at Met Life Stadium last summer. “It was so much fun,” she said. “We had a blast and performing those songs was so nostalgic for me. We had the best time and it was great to see them. I was so nervous!”

Later on the late-night show, Lovato and Fallon took on the “Musical Genre Challenge,” which saw them performing hit songs in various styles.

Lovato pushed back the start of her It’s Not That Deep. The trek will now kick off in Orlando on April 13. Previously planned stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Denver, and Charlotte, North Carolina have been canceled.

“My Lovatics — I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can,” Lovato wrote on Instagram last month. “While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible. To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”
