Miranda Lambert Signs New Deal With MCA

Miranda Lambert has signed a new deal with MCA, according to a press release sent out on Monday (Apr. 20.)

She’ll release new music under the label deal, which reflects “a continued commitment to the creative community and roots that have long shaped her artistry,” the release states.

This new partnership comes two years — almost to the day — after she signed with Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud. Lambert also launched her own imprint under the Big Loud umbrella, called Big Loud Texas, with frequent collaborator Jon Randall in 2023.

“Throughout my life and career, I have found that the common thread in every chapter is finding the right people – songwriters, musicians, collaborators and team members – to match the moment,” Lambert says.

“I am honored to join a roster and a team with such a rich history of championing artistry,” she continues. “I look forward to sharing this new music with the world under their banner.”

Lambert’s move to MCA means that she is now labelmates with Reba McEntire.

McEntire signed her first record deal with PolyGram, which later merged with MCA, in 1975. She released many of her greatest hits while signed to the label. McEntire left in 2008 but resigned to MCA in 2020.

McEntire brought her MCA career full circle as she officially welcomed Lambert to the label. She presented Lambert with a glass case containing the original signing gift she got back in 1975.

“There’s the belt buckle that they issued out then,” McEntire told a seemingly stunned Lambert. “That’s my gift to you for being a labelmate.”

“You’re the best,” Lambert replied. “…We were already family, now we’re label family.”

What Record Labels Has Miranda Lambert Been Signed To In the Past?

Miranda Lambert made major news in March 2023 when she announced she was departing Sony Music. At the time, she’d been signed to Sony for 20 years, and the label had released all of her major-label albums.

At the time, she said she was hoping for a refreshed creative perspective.

Lambert didn’t choose a new label home for a year. She signed her deal with Republic Records, in partnership with Big Loud, in April 2024. She released her Postcards From Texas album on Republic later that year.

That’s the only full album she put out during that time.

What About Miranda Lambert’s Label Imprint, Big Loud Texas?

In late 2023 — some months before she signed to Republic — Lambert and her frequent songwriting partner Jon Randall launched their own record label imprint under Big Loud.

The new venture was launched in order to spotlight up-and-coming artists from Texas, which is Randall and Lambert’s mutual home state. Lambert featured on a duet with one of those artists, Jake Worthington, in 2024.

Other signed acts include Dylan Gossett, The Droptines, Alex Lambert (no relation), Coleman Jennings and Julianna Rankin.

Per the press release, Lambert will maintain her role as founder and be actively involved in artist development in Big Loud Texas as she pursues her new chapter.
