Keith Urban Band Member Natalie Stovall Reveals She’s Pregnant

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Natalie Stovall revealed she’s pregnant this week. She also shared how hard it’s been to start a family with husband James Bavendam.

The couple have been married for 17 years, “… and have been wanting to start a family for so very long,” Stovall writes. “Years of trying, [three] failed IVF rounds, multiple docs saying it ‘probably wasn’t gonna happen.'”

Stovall is a backing vocalist and utility player for Keith Urban, but the remainder of 2026 is light for him with only about a dozen more concerts. She’s also a host at the Grand Ole Opry and part of country trio Runaway June.

    • Natalie Stovall first gained mainstream attention as leader of the Drive, a band that included her husband.
    • In May 2020 she joined Runaway June, replacing founder Hannah Mulholland.
    • In 2017, she joined Team Blake during Season 13 of The Voice.

“Can’t wait to meet this little human at the end of the summer!” Stovall writes. “Until then — Mamma’s gonna be bumpin’ on stage and hosting the Opry.”

    Who Is Natalie Stovall?

Natalie Stovall was raised in Columbia, Tenn. a rural town southwest of Nashville. She began playing violin at age four and by age 10 she was performing professionally.

The Grand Ole Opry isn’t the only famous house she’s played. Stovall has also played at the White House and on the Oprah Winfrey Show. After college she formed the Drive, a band known for their musical talent and willingness to play 365 shows a year if they could find them.

New music and news of Natalie Stovall and the Drive dissipated in about 2016 and soon after she tried out for the Voice. The next few years brought significant gig work but she really began to get noticed shortly after the pandemic began. That’s why she joined Runaway June and when she began hosting digital segments at the Opry.

Stovall and Bavendam frequently post photos or tributes to one another on social media. She also shares clips from the Grand Ole Opry and moments from the stage with Urban and Runaway June.
