In a recent share on social media, Jackson even teased his latest project with fans, and it’s a follow-up to something many fans know well.
Jonathan Jackson First Appeared On General Hospital In 1993 As A Child Actor
As an actor, Jackson’s breakout role was playing Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. He first played the character from 1993 to 1999. Following his original run, he had appeared on the soap on and off over the years, most recently making a return in 2024.
Jackson has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Tuck Everlasting and Nashville. Outside of acting, he has also pursued other ventures, such as music, notably serving as the frontman of Enation.

Jackson has also published a few books. This includes Book of Solace and Madness, a 2012 book of poems published under the name J. S. Jackson, and The Mystery of Art: Becoming an Artist in the Image of God, which came out in 2014.
The actor-turned-author recently opened up about his latest book in a recent selfie-style video on Instagram. He shared, “Announcement! My new book is available for preorder on Amazon! It’s called The Eternal Poet and The Cosmic Drama.”

“It’s a sequel to The Mystery of Art and a deep dive into the art of storytelling as it relates to history, the Bible and Pagan Mythology. Many years in the making.
Jackson continued, “It’s primarily for filmmakers, poets, writers and performers, but more broadly for anyone interested in how the arts relate to faith and meaning.” During the video, he also made sure to show off a copy of the book, which depicted three angels at a table on its cover.

According to Amazon, the book is expected to have a paperback release on September 26, 2026. As a description read, it will look at the nature of poetry throughout time, citing examples “from Aristotle’s Poetics to Shakespearean Tragedy.” Ultimately, it was shared that “the author seeks to marvel at the Incarnation of Christ as the central reality of the Cosmic Drama, for all peoples and all ages,” dubbing him the titular “Eternal Poet.”
