Netflix released A Toxic Love Story on July 23rd, and it became a runaway hit. Viewers are fascinated with true crime documentaries, and this one had sex, obsession, and framed crimes. So Much More To The Story
A Toxic Love Story revolved around a 2016 case based in Orange County, California. It was released on Netflix on July 23rd, 2026, although it was supposed to come out a day earlier. There was some delay that kept it from being released on time, but viewers did not seem to mind. They were chomping at the bit for something new and exciting in the true crime genre. Ian and Angela Diaz stopped at nothing to make his ex-fiancée, Michelle Hadley, look like she was stalking the two.
Michelle did go to jail for 88 days, but she was eventually released. As for Angela, she was locked up for 3 out of her 5-year sentence. Finally, Ian received over a decade behind bars, but there is so much more than Netflix showed. Rather, more details that need to be told, such as Ian coercing Michelle into sleeping with other men and filming it for his own gratification. She claimed that, in 2014, she was very sick, loaded on cold meds, so she finally agreed to sleep with someone else. Ian “arranged for a stranger from Craigslist to come over, gave [Michelle] three shots of whisky, and set up cameras in their bedroom.”
Michelle stated that Ian was watching as this went down in another room. She then asked for the footage to be destroyed, but Ian allegedly said: “No one put a gun to your head.” Additionally, A Toxic Love Story may have omitted Ian and Michelle’s work battle. She had a great job that he made her quit to go work at Disneyland. Michelle believed it was so she could be watched and reported on.
Where Is Angela Today?
Angela has been released from prison, despite her A Toxic Love Story involvement and torment toward Michelle. However, it has not been noted what she is up to now. She is now known as Angi Connell, lives in Arizona, and works as the Director of Peer Counseling at Exhale Pro-Voice. Angela maintains that she was “wrongfully convicted,” but Michelle Hadley and viewers would likely disagree.
