Big Brother recently returned for its latest season. However, one of the show’s current houseguests has come under fire due to a resurfaced video on social media. Since then, fans and even a few series alumni have spoken out about the video. This also isn’t the first time the contestant has received similar criticism. Keep reading for more details on what is going down.
Kamu Kirk Is A Pro MMA Fighter Who Joined Big Brother Season 28
Big Brother is currently airing Season 28, which debuted on July 8, 2026. This time, the show has a time-travel theme, “BB Time Trip,” with the house decorated with time capsules and nostalgic memorabilia.
Kamu Kirk is a houseguest who joined Big Brother during its 28th season. Outside of reality television, he is known for his work as an MMA fighter.

However, Kirk has recently come under criticism following a viral video in which he appeared to joke about George Floyd. Back in December, he shared several videos where he filmed someone being arrested outside his residence.
During the figure’s screams for help, the person being arrested alleged they were facing police mistreatment. Amid this, Kamu could be heard saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe. Bro thinks he’s George Floyd.”
The original video dates back to December 2025. Despite joining a reality series, Kirk doesn’t appear to have tried to cover up the video, as it could be seen within Kamu’s Story highlights months later.
The video has since resurfaced and gone viral online. Since then, various figures have called Kirk out over the comments, with some wanting him to be evicted from the show.
This isn’t the first time that Kirk has fallen under fire over comments he’s made. As previously reported, series alum Frankie Grande recently criticized Kirk and Rick Devens after they made comments concerning Drew Campbell, who was wearing unicorn-themed pajamas.
A Few Series Alumni Have Spoken Out About The Recent Video
Other figures who have a past with the show have criticized Kirk more directly concerning the resurfaced video. Season 21 alum Kat Dunn, as noted by Us Weekly, shared, “I just wanted to say that video of Kamu mocking George Floyd is incredibly disappointing.”
Dunn continued, “I also think the fact that he recorded it as recent as seven months ago and felt proud enough to add it to his ig highlights is just pure weirdo behavior. In fact, I’ve seen enough of Kamu to know that that is not someone I want to associate with in the future.” Quinn Martin, who competed with current houseguest Angela Murray on Big Brother 26, also shared, “What happened to background checks?”
With Kirk’s post, various figures have offered their own reactions on social media. While many criticized the post, others defended him, feeling that the joke was being taken out of context and aimed toward the person being arrested. Some comments included:
- “Everything I see from this man gets more and more DISGUSTING!!!”
- “He’s laughing at a criminal who is playing victim. We need more people like him in the house.”
- “And CBS will do nothing about it. They prob knew before and put him on anyway.”
Racist as hell but also just a disgusting lack of empathy for another human being in distress. Kamu Kirk is garbage #bb28 pic.twitter.com/z1oJkzMMVV
