So, it was quite the shock to wake up on Monday, August 17, to the news of her death. She passed away the previous day while in South Carolina. Her on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, reportedly found her unresponsive and called 911. Their relationship was volatile to say the least. He was arrested multiple times on domestic violence charges over the years.
It was reported by multiple outlets that the actress died from a suspected overdose. She battled drug and alcohol addiction for years. The toxicology report is still pending. No matter how she died, it’s a huge loss for her loved ones, especially her 12-year-old daughter.
Hayden Panettiere Fans Beg Netflix To Rescue Popular Series
Hayden Panettiere starred on several soap operas when she was a young girl. She was on One Life to Live and played Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light for nearly four years. She went on to star in the movie Bring It On: All or Nothing in 2006. That same year, she took on the starring role as the cheerleader on NBC’s sci-fi hit series Heroes. The show ran for four seasons.
Her next big role was as Juliette, a young country music star, on ABC’s Nashville. Hayden Panettiere was also a singer, releasing several songs with Disney years before Nashville. She spoke out several years ago about how difficult it was to film the ABC show because her character battled postpartum depression and addiction at the same time Hayden Panettiere was battling the afflictions in her real life.
Fans of the actress have been honoring her memory by revisiting her most popular movies and television shows. Heroes and Nashville are both on Netflix, but not for long. Hayden Panettiere’s heartbroken fans begged Netflix to save Nashville.
The musical drama is scheduled to leave the streaming service in just a few weeks. It disappears from the platform on September 15, 2026, at midnight. But Netflix could save it. According to The U.S. Sun, the streaming giant could renew its agreement with Lionsgate. The Hollywood production company owns the rights to Nashville.
But if Netflix doesn’t act, another streaming service, such as Hulu, could easily grab the ABC show. But for now, viewers have just a few weeks to binge all six seasons of Nashville on Netflix.
