Drew Carey has worked on a number of projects, both scripted and unscripted. Recently, it’s been announced that he will be joining the revival of a fan-favorite reality series. This comes out as CBS has announced a few reality show orders.
Drew Carey Has Worked On A Number Of Unscripted Shows, From Whose Line Is It Anyway? To The Price Is Right
Carey is an actor and comedian. Many were introduced to him through his namesake ABC sitcom, The Drew Carey Show. In addition, he hosted the U.S. version of the improv series, Whose Line Is It Anyway?.
In 2007, Carey also took over hosting duties on The Price Is Right. He took over from Bob Barker on the long-running CBS game show.
According to Variety, Carey will soon add another show to his resume. CBS has ordered a new version of Undercover Boss with him as a host.
The series originally made its debut on CBS back in 2010. Viewers watched corporate leaders secretly work inside their own organization, gaining a firsthand look at the lives of their own employees.
The news also shows that Carey is in good standing with CBS. This comes out as he just celebrated his 20th season working on The Price Is Right for the network.
CBS’ Mitch Graham Felt That Undercover Boss’ Return Will ‘Tap Into The Hearts’ Of Many
The Undercover Boss revival isn’t the only reality series order from the network. CBS also ordered Stacks of Cash, which is to be hosted by Mike O’Malley, and 24 Hour Millionaire, which reportedly comes from Big Brother producers.
In a statement, Mitch Graham, executive vice president of alternative series at CBS, shared, “These orders reflect our commitment to building a deep year-round unscripted slate with formats that are ambitious, entertaining and distinctly CBS.” In particular, Graham highlighted Carey’s involvement, adding, “We couldn’t think of a better time to bring back a reimagined version of ‘Boss,’ with Drew Carey serving as our host through undercover journeys that tap into the heart and authenticity of hard-working employees that audiences have always loved seeing.”
