An alarm sounds, and a terrifying encounter follows in Dread Central’s exclusive clip from The Cycle, arriving on Shudder this Friday, October 23.
The film comes from Jordan Downey, who directed the criminally underrated The Head Hunter and “Stork,” one of my favorite segments we’ve made for V/H/S/Beyond. We’ve been pretty excited about this one, and the clip below offers another taste of his latest chiller.

Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) and Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) star in the film, which follows an estranged daughter investigating her father’s dark past after his body is discovered at the scene of a horrific crime. He’s been missing for thirty-six years.
Stephen King called it “A terrific fright flick—The Thing meets The Silence of the Lambs,” an endorsement featured in the full trailer.
Our own Mary Beth McAndrews gave the film 4.5 out of 5 in her Fantastic Fest review, calling it Downey’s “best work so far, both visually and narratively.” She also urged readers to avoid spoilers, so we’ll leave its surprises there.
Downey co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Stewart. James Harris (Obsession, Fall) and Peter Heller produce.
