Quick Answer: The award-winning series Abbott Elementary can currently be streamed with DirectTV, Max, Hulu, and fuboTV. Season three premieres on ABC on February 7th at 9/8c
If you haven’t heard of Abbott Elementary, then jump on the bandwagon because it’s time to binge-watch the series before the release of season three on February 7th.
Developed by Philadelphia-born comedian Quinta Brunson, who also stars in the series as its main actor, Abbott Elementary is a mockumentary that takes the behind-the-scenes feeling of The Office and focuses on a Philly public school. Brunson’s character, Janine Teagues, is a spunky, go-getter second-grade teacher whose viral optimism shines a light within the hallowed halls of Abbott.
Featuring other notable actors like Janelle James, who voice acts for the character Fran in Central Park, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, best known for her role in Sister Act 2, as well as Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Tyler James Williams, and William Stanford Davis — it’s become a series that’s hard to ignore. On top of its latest Primetime Emmy Award, the show has received several Golden Globes, a Peabody, and a Critics Choice Award for best comedy.

Abbott Elementary Reboot: Cast, Reviews, Runtime, Rating
A mockumentary that takes place in a Philly public school, Abbott Elementary sees its director Quinta Brunson play Janine Teagues, a second-grade teacher whose optimism is constantly at odds with the harsh realities of Abbott’s limited resources and overextended staff. Over time, Janine gradually wins over her colleagues, featuring dignified Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph), shady Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter), cartoonish Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti), rookie Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), and custodian Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis).
The series has two seasons already, with a third along the way. It was a hit for ABC, winning multiple awards, including several Golden Globes, a Peabody, and a Critics Choice Award for best comedy.
However, as Brunson tells Rolling Stone, she sees this as an opportunity less about awards and more about honest conversations around equity and race. “I wanted [my character] to ride the bus,” she tells journalist Mankaprr Conteh. “[Executives] thought that looked too poor to be enjoyable,” she explains. “Because they were like, ‘Can she be in a Nissan?’ It was anything they could do to not have this character on the bus. That socioeconomically represented something too unenjoyable to watch.”
As the show heads into its third season, it’s hard not to acknowledge the impact Brunson and the show have had on viewers. Abbott Elementary is now available to watch across streamers. Tune in to watch this award-winning series.
