Crockett County Sheriff’s Department (Tennesse) shared the news that Amy Slaton Halterman was arrested on Labor Day. She was at Safari Park when the police received a strange call. Upon their arrival, they discovered the 1000-Lb. Sisters star in her car and uncovered sufficient evidence to arrest her. Here’s what unfolded, plus a look at Amy’s mugshot.
Amy Slaton Halterman Arrested At Safari Park In Tennessee
According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, they received a call stating that a guest at Safari Park was bitten by a camel. “Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the Facebook statement read.
Inside the vehicle was none other than 1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton Halterman. After further investigation, she was brought in and charged with illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment. Brian Scott Lovvorn, who was also in the car, is facing the same charges.
The Drug Enforcement Administration defines Schedule I drugs as “drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” This includes things like heroin, LSD, marijuana, ecstasy, methaqualone, and peyote. Many people have assumed that because the Sherriff’s Department referenced a smell coming from the vehicle, the drug in question was marijuana.
Schedule IV drugs have a much lower chance of being potentially misused and are typically prescribed by doctors. This category of drug includes things like Xanax, Soma, Klonopin, Tranxene, Versed, Restoril, and tramadol.
It is not clear how Brian and Amy know each other, but both individuals were booked into the Crockett County Jail on Monday. However, it is clear that Amy Slaton Halterman wasn’t overly excited about her circumstances. Take a look at her mugshot below.
1000-Lb. Sisters Fans Can’t Believe Their Eyes
In the comments, 1000-Lb. Sisters fans went wild. “’I pay my bail! My bail is paid!’” one Facebook user joked, referring to an infamous fight between Amy and her sister Tammy Slaton.
“This was not on my 2024 bingo card,” another person commented. “I just know the TLC producers are kicking themselves for not getting this on camera for the show,” a third person quipped.
Several people also asked about the camel’s well-being, laughing about how the arrest unfolded. “Get the camel a criminal defense attorney,” one person exclaimed. A few folks also seemed to be confused about how the camel was involved. “You lost me at camel,” an Instagram user said. “I had to read it 3x.” Another was trying to figure out who exactly was bitten by the camel, Amy, “her boo,” or someone else?
Others took guesses as to what drugs she had in the vehicle and some predicted which of her siblings would be on the way to bail her out.
Because she was taken in on a federal holiday, she likely won’t be able to be bailed out until today. There are currently no details about her bail available.
