‘Survivor’ Star Fired For ‘Inappropriate’ Behavior

Survivor fans regularly watch contestants get voted off the island or leave in other ways. However, eliminations can also occur in the real world. Recently, one Survivor star lost a prominent job due to alleged “inappropriate” behavior. Some sources have also pointed out similarities with the recent story with the contestant’s time on the show.

The Survivor Alum Was Dismissed From A Job Following A Reported HR Investigation

As fans of Survivor know, contestants are placed in an isolated location where they must compete in challenges, risk getting voted off, and ultimately survive. Many contestants have gone on to become stars in their own right, especially if they appear in other reality shows.

News has come out that one prominent contestant recently lost their job following the show. Notably, some fans noticed a parallel between the recent story and the contestant’s time on the show.

According to Deadline, former contestant Dan Spilo had found work as the manager of actor Alan Ritchson. However, he was recently dismissed on the Australian set of the actor’s upcoming film, Runner.

According to sources, Spilo was accused of “inappropriate behavior.” This allegedly included reports of yelling and bullying the crew. The dismissal took place after an HR investigation. He and the actor also parted ways at the same time, which took place around a week ago.

Sources said there was a “heated exchange” on set. It was also claimed that Spilo left of his own accord, feeling it was best for the project. Reportedly, tensions were high due to a family member in Israel undergoing health issues.

Fans May Remember Dan Spilo For His Time On Survivor: Island Of The Idols

Spilo also left for Israel following his departure from the set. However, the issues were also said not to be an “isolated incident,” also pointing towards Spilo’s previous time on Survivor.

Reality show fans might remember Spilo for appearing on Survivor: Island of the Idols. He became the first contestant on the show to be “ejected” from the show. At the time, he was under allegations of inappropriate behavior, with two female contestants accusing him of “touchy-feely” behavior.

Spilo was later ejected from the game after an off-camera incident with a crew member. At the time, the incident gained widespread attention in the media, with the show announcing changes to its own safety protocols.

For his part, Alan Ritchson is arguably best known for appearing as the title character in the Reacher action series. He is also known for his roles in Blue Mountain State, Smallville, and Titans. Reality show fans may also remember him as one of the top 87 contestants on the third season of American Idol.

In the upcoming film, Ritchson appears alongside Owen Wilson in the indie film, which is directed by Scott Waugh. Ritchson also served as a producer, which, following Spilo’s departure, included Todd Garner, Mark Fasano, and Jeffrey Greenstein. Lauren Gennawey and Matthew Goldberg will serve as executive producers.
