Kevin Spacey has been ordered to pay nearly $31 million to TV studio Media Rights Capital for breaching his House of Cards contract with behind-the-scenes behavior leading up to his 2017 termination from the Netflix show amid allegations of sexual misconduct. On Monday, MRC filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court revealing the actor was ordered to pay the eight-figure sum after a “confidential,” closed-door arbitration proceeding that ended with the judgment that Spacey failed to overturn on appeal. The new filing is asking the court to confirm the award. MRC says the secret proceeding included more than…

Taylor Swift’s 10-minute version of “All Too Well” is now the longest Number One hit of all time, replacing Don McLean’s “American Pie” on Monday — a.k.a. the day the music died. According to Billboard, the extended version of Swift’s greatest song, released earlier this month on Red (Taylor’s Version), assumes Number One at 10 minutes and 13 seconds. “American Pie” held that rank for nearly 50 years since it first landed on the charts in Jan. 1972. “You guys sent a 10-minute song to Number One for the first time in history,” Swift marveled on Instagram, posting a video…

Developer Monolith Productions wasted little time in establishing Condemned: Criminal Origins defining tone, which holds up remarkably well 16 years after the game’s release. Channeling the aesthetic and brooding atmosphere of iconic horror films such as David Fincher’s Seven, Condemned’s most…

In 2019, just three years after he debuted as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland reprised the web-slinging superhero twice: first in Avengers: Endgame and then in Spider-Man: Far From Home a few months later. With a workload like that, it certainly would have been understandable if Holland had decided to take a break from performing for a spell, but he then re-teamed with directors Joe and Anthony Russo for the Apple TV+ movie Cherry. Photography courtesy of Whitney Lichty And you should, too. By Mishal Cazmi Date November 17, 2021 Facebook Twitter Since Whitney Lichty decided to go grey, she has received more compliments from complete strangers on the internet than from close friends. “I don’t get a ton of positive comments in real life,” she says. “Recently, though, I was with my husband when a young man came up to us and said: ‘I just want to tell you your hair is beautiful. A review of “What It Takes,” this week’s episode of Succession, coming up just as soon as I throw cake batter at a brick wall… “What It Takes” borrows its title from Richard Ben Cramer’s 1992 political nonfiction opus What It Takes: The Way to the White House, which chronicles the journeys of a half-dozen candidates in the 1988 presidential election (including George H.W. Bush, who actually won that race, and Joe Biden, who would have to wait another 32 years to do so). Long held up as one of the best books ever written about the American political system,…

New Edition and New Kids on the Block playfully squared off at the 2021 American Music Awards, performing in what the awards show called a “Battle of Boston.” After a video intro, the two Boston-formed bands — who’d never performed together onstage — took turns in the spotlight, singing teases and hooks of various hits. New Kids opened with their signature cut “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” nailing all the choreography (including the pendulum swing). New Edition then took over, naturally, with “Candy Girl,” employing their own array of classy dance moves. It was basically rapid-fire nostalgia, with the…

Heading into the weekend, I had a blast reading all the box office reports, especially the ones that declared Ghostbusters: Afterlife (read our review) a failure even before it opened. L.O.L. Yeah, that’s why Sony Pictures rushed to make a sequel… Digressing, Ghostbusters: Afterlife had a massive opening, overperforming with a ridiculous $44M domestic and $16M international for…
