Photo courtesy of ImaxTree From clothing and accessories to makeup, here’s how to incorporate the unique hue into your life. By Ivy Tang Date December 2, 2022 Facebook Twitter Step aside, Very Peri, there’s a romantic new hue in town. Pantone has announced the 2023 Colour of the Year, Viva Magenta, and while the name sounds sort of obvious (hello, Barbiecore!), this specific shade of pink is actually quite distinct. Photography by Scott Everett White/Netflix In my book, these kitschy flicks are the reason for the season. By Natalie Michie Date December 2, 2022 Facebook Twitter Secret Santa this. Twinkly lights that. It seems no one wants to talk about the real star of the holiday season: bad Christmas movies. I’m referring to the run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter rom-com featuring stereotypical Hallmark storylines and everyone-saw-it-coming endings. With notable characteristics including a festive town backdrop, an always picturesque protagonist and a mysterious old…

The Milk Carton Kids are set to release their first new album in four years this spring and are giving eager listeners a preview of what’s to come with their new single “When You’re Gone.” Released today (Dec. 2), the bluegrass-leaning track is a somber number about yearning for a lost love. The narrator laments that he’s picking a banjo tune that he learned from the object of his affection as he does just that. While The Milk Carton Kids often lean into their wit, this is a far cry from comedy. It’s an earnest tale of a memory that refuses to…

On Dec. 3, 1968, Elvis Presley made his triumphant return to the stage with an NBC TV special presented by the Singer sewing company. The special event is commonly knows as the ’68 Comeback Special, though it’s simply titled Elvis.Presley’s NBC appearance was a long time coming: Since 1961, the King of Rock and Roll had been focused on his movie career (which spawned popular films such as Girls! Girls! Girls! and Viva Las Vegas) instead of live performances. Although he had a few hits — including “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Return to Sender” — during this time…

Adam Sandler is no stranger to criticism. Since his first starring role in Billy Madison, a film that the SNL alum co-wrote, he has had to deal with critics writing harsh words about him and his collaborator’s hard work.
