The Sopranos lives! Or, at least, Meadow and AJ Soprano still do, in a Super Bowl commercial helmed by none other than Sopranos creator David Chase, in which Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler reprise their roles as Tony Soprano’s children, Meadow and AJ. The involvement of Chase (and, for that matter, original Sopranos director of photography Phil Abraham) may not exactly place the Chevy Silverado commercial into official Sopranos canon, but it’s as close to a sequel to the iconic HBO gangster drama as we may ever get. (Well, it’s this or the cemetery scene at the beginning of The…

When we phoned up Pete Townshend last week at his new home in the English countryside, our only real goal was to talk about the Who’s upcoming American tour where the band will be paired with local symphonies. Before we knew it, an hour had passed and we’d covered everything from the Neil Young–Joe Rogan spat to the inflation crisis, the unlikelihood of a new Who record or solo LP, the brilliant use of his music on Freaks and Geeks, and his hatred of NFTs. In typical Townshend fashion, the guitarist gave long, thoughtful answers to every one of our…
Censorship is nothing new for horror fans, including video games. Unfortunately, it’s reared its head again with LKA’s upcoming Martha Is Dead, as Sony has requested that the game be censored for its release on the PlayStation. Martha Is Dead‘s publisher, Wired Productions, took to Twitter to explain that as per Sony’s request, LKA has had to “modify the experience on the PS5 and PS4 versions [of Martha Is Dead]”. The resulting changes have unfortunately rendered “some elements” of the game no longer playable. Neither Wired Productions or LKA have specified what content will have to be censored to appease…
Who knew that a chance encounter in eighth grade would eventually lead to a beautiful friendship filled with quality content? That certainly is the case for Victoria Garrick and Corporate Natalie, a pair of TikTokers who now have more than 1.5 million followers combined after first meeting during their teens. Whether you know Victoria through her TED Talk or have seen Natalie popping up on your “For You” page, these two are besties first—but they just so happen to have booming careers on social media as well. Photography by Getty Images The singer caused quite the social media stir as eagle-eyed fans spotted a diamond ring on her finger at the Brit Awards. By Annika Lautens Date February 9, 2022 Facebook Twitter After the emotionally exhausting and tearfully tumultuous few years Adele has had — as thoroughly documented on her new album 30 — the British singer deserves a win. And not just a few wins, ALL the wins. During last night’s Brit Awards, Adele did just that, taking home the night’s top prizes: Album of the Year, Song of the Year for “Easy on Me,” and…
It may not seem as though country music has taken center stage at the Super Bowl all that often, but throughout the big game’s history, more than a dozen of the genre’s artists have performed during pre-game festivities and at halftime.Super Bowl organizers have more often selected country stars to sing the National Anthem (or, occasionally, “America the Beautiful”) before the game’s kickoff. Over the years, everyone from Charley Pride to Carrie Underwood has helped attendees and viewers feel some patriotic pride; in 2017, that was Luke Bryan’s job, and on Sunday (Feb. 7), it’ll be Eric Church’s, in collaboration…
If the title of People Just Do Nothing doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about the cult-hit BBC series, consider the events of the pilot: Out of the gate, we see four boys banging away at their pirate radio station, Kurupt FM, assaulting everyone within a half-mile radius of their block tower with a barrage of British rave tunes. When a hostile neighbor threatens violence, Grindah — the self-proclaimed “Greatest MC in the Galaxy” and “general” of the group — demurs from confrontation, instead castigating his BFF DJ Beats for turning up the volume. The prickly MC then…
Fans were finally able to feast their eyes on the first trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion this past week, and it certainly managed to make an impression. The nearly three-minute preview was chock full of sweet footage, including the long-awaited return of the franchise’s original trio: Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. It was a visceral experience for the general public but, of course, it also meant a lot to the creative minds behind the trilogy capper. Screenwriter Emily Carmichael was among the many who watched the footage (which coincides with the Super Bowl), and she’s sharing the experience…
Kanye West made a surprise last-minute appearance at a Los Angeles screening Friday of the upcoming Netflix docuseries Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. Ye showed up about 15 minutes into the screening of the first part of the film, sitting on a chair in the front corner of the room, Variety reports. The rapper’s slightly tardy appearance at the screening likely caught attendees — including Usher, Offset and Roddy Ricch — off-guard as West had previously demanded (and was denied) editing access to the three-part documentary prior to its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. (“I’m going to say…
If you’re in the mood for a wacky creature feature you probably need to look no further than the upcoming Crabs, which has unleashed an absolutely bonkers trailer this week. Crabs is being described as “Zombeavers meets Godzilla,” which should give you a decent idea what to expect from this one. And yes, it features six-foot man-eating CRAB MONSTERS. In the film from director Pierce Berolzheimer, “Mutated by nuclear runoff a horde of murderous horseshoe crabs descend on a sleepy California town causing Prom Night terror. As the deadly crustaceans claw their way through the disbelieving population, it’s up to a…
At long last, New York Fashion Week has returned! After kicking off on Friday, Feb. 11, the week-long fashion event will continue to feature showcases from some of fashion’s biggest names—including Coach, Michael Kors, Anna Sui, and Christian Siriano—alongside “digital release” collections from Tadashi Shoji, Adeam and more. However, the monumental moment also comes with a caveat. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to surge across the globe, fan favorite Tom Ford was the first to announce last month that he would have to skip his scheduled exhibition, which was originally set to close out the week. “I am incredibly disappointed not to be able…

If Luke Bryan knows how to do one thing well, it’s how to put on a good time for his fans. Bryan brought his high-energy, rump-shaking and personable approach to the Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas for his brand-new residency, and pictures show what a memorable experience it was for the fans in attendance.During Friday night’s (Feb. 11) debut, Bryan showed the audience that he’s capable of navigating more technical elements than his fans are used to. One main focus of the show is a series of risers that smoothly go up and down to match the music. Throughout the show, Bryan climbs…
