Found: The Perfect Little Black Dress — and It’s Only

master mentalism tricks

When the holiday season rolls around, I always find myself scrambling at the last minute to get my outfits together. However, this year I decided to start shopping at some of my favorite retailers early. I’ve recently become a big Old Navy fan, because I’ve found a ton of cute options on their site, like a sherpa sweater I’m absolutely obsessed with and a packable zip-up jacket that I’ve been wearing nonstop. I decided to browse Old Navy in search of a holiday dress, and I’m so glad I did. I ended up finding this Long-Sleeve Poet Mini Swing Dress ($28, originally $40), and it’s been the perfect addition to my wardrobe.

When I first opened the package containing my dress, I immediately knew I was going to be obsessed because the dress was so soft. It’s made from 100 percent cotton and has a crinkled texture, and I loved the way it felt. I sprinted upstairs to try it on immediately and instantly fell in love. It fit perfectly without being too tight or too loose, thanks to the swing silhouette. I knew right away that it would be a great option for holiday dinners because it was extremely forgiving. Not to mention one of the biggest selling points ever: it has pockets (!!!). This dress comes in sizes XS-4X, and I took a size XS, so I would say that it fits true to size.

Although my original plan was to wear this dress for holiday dinners, I couldn’t just hide this dress in my closet. So, I actually ended up wearing it out to brunch with two of my girlfriends this weekend. I received tons of compliments, and when I asked them to guess where it was from, they couldn’t believe it when I said it was from Old Navy. Old Navy is quickly becoming one of my favorite retailers for discovering fashionable clothes at an affordable price point.

I styled the dress with knee-high leather boots and a leather motorcycle jacket, and it looked absolutely stunning (not to toot my own horn or anything). I’m already planning on styling it with sheer black tights the next time I wear it. I also tried it on with black booties and it looked amazing. I even tried styling the dress with white sneakers, and it looked so cute – I know it’s going to be one of my go-to outfits this summer. This dress is so easy to style – all I have to do is change my shoes and I can completely change my look. It’s extremely versatile, and I can’t stop planning out all the ways I want to wear it in the future.

Even though this dress looks way more expensive than it really is, I love that it can be thrown in the washer when it’s time to clean it. I washed it on cold and hung it to dry, and it’s still in perfect condition and ready to wear again this weekend. If you’re looking for the perfect little black dress to add to your wardrobe, add this one to your cart before it sells out.
