Whether your hair is long, short, straight, or curly, it’s easy to fall into a routine when it comes to daily styling. For example, I have long, straight hair, and while I’m fortunate to have multiple hairstyle options at my fingertips—plaits, waves, ponytails, buns—I almost always opt to either wear it loose or I throw it up and pin it back with a claw clip to keep it out of my face.
In an effort to mix things up and experiment with new hairstyles this year, I’ve been challenging myself to try out some more creative options. First up, pigtail hairstyles… The humble pigtail is often overlooked, but it’s a much more fun take on a ponytail, works for nearly all lengths of hair, and allows you to utilise some cute hair accessories. Pigtails are wearable, versatile, and depending on how you style them, can be polished, sporty, glam, preppy, polished, or low-key. So many options. They’re also very easy to do, so if you’re low maintenance when it comes to your hair, pigtail hairstyles are a great way to add extra interest with minimal effort required.
