Tristan Thompson confirmed last night in an Instagram Story statement that he did father a child with Maralee Nichols and issued an apology to his on-off girlfriend Khloé Kardashian, whom he had been dating when he and Nichols were physically involved. Kardashian “has been doing her best to stay positive, take care of herself both mentally and physically, and continue to focus on her biggest priority, [her and Thompson’s 3-year-old daughter] True.” TMZ reported that shortly before Thompson posted his Instagram Story, he was spotted with close to 100 roses for True. A source confirmed that the flowers were for his daughter.
TMZ’s sources said that regarding Thompson and Kardashian, “there’s absolutely no chance at reconciliation with their relationship—the two will only continue to co-parent.”
Entertainment Tonight‘s source offered similar intel, saying Kardashian remains in touch with her ex for matters pertaining only to their daughter: “Khloe and Tristan are in touch about logistical things and about what’s going on with True, and that’s really the focus when they’re communicating. He has been apologetic and attempting to make things better.”

In his statement, Thompson apologized to Kardashian for causing her years of “heartache and humiliation.” The two last broke up in May after weathering multiple cheating scandals against him during their relationship.
He wrote:
Today, paternity test results reveal I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son.
I sincerely apologize for everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.
Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.
