Never Have I Ever” creator Mindy Kaling is making press rounds in New York City to promote the release of season three on Netflix, and she’s continuing to show off her vibrant wardrobe. With the help of stylist Hayley Atkin, “The Office” alum and creative genius selected a purple Oscar de la Renta shift dress for a visit to NBC’s “Today” show, finished with a crystal-embellished trim around the sleeves and neckline.

Playing to the design’s ’60s influence, Kaling, 43, added color with a pair of architectural gemstone drop earrings and a modern update with PVC ankle-strap pumps that feature a glitter cap toe. She parted her hair to the side and let her loose waves blow in the wind, opting for a glossy lip and a sweep of silver eyeshadow.

Selena Gomez memorably wore the same Oscar de la Renta dress for a trip to the White House back in May, albeit in the navy shade. She styled the look with basic white pumps and small gold hoops. Gomez wore the dress to MTV Entertainment’s Mental Health Youth Action Forum to speak about her personal self care journey and emphasize the importance of therapy.

It’s safe to assume the ’60s fashion resurgence is here to stay. Ahead, you can shop the frock in both colorways, and get a closer look at how both stars styled it for their respective events.
