Tristan Thompson issued a statement on his Instagram Story last night confirming that he did father a child with Maralee Nichols. Nichols filed a lawsuit against Thompson last month, suing him for child support and other pregnancy-related fees. In his statement, Thompson publicly apologized to his on-off girlfriend Khloé Kardashian, whom he had been dating when he and Nichols had their sexual relationship.
In court documents reviewed by People in December, Nichols alleged that she and Thompson conceived a child together in March 2021 who was born in December 2021. Thompson confirmed he and Nichols had a physical relationship and “admitted to having sex with the personal trainer on at least one occasion, per the documents,” People wrote.

Thompson’s statement last night is his first time publicly confirming Nichols’ child is his own and addressing Kardashian about the situation. He wrote:
Today, paternity test results reveal I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son.
I sincerely apologize for everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.
Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.
Kardashian has not issued any public response.
In December, when news of the lawsuit came out, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Kardashian really sees her romance with Thompson, who has cheated on her multiple times during the course of it, as done for good.
“Khloé is kind of gloomy about the news of Tristan’s new [alleged] baby, especially going into the holidays,” the source said then. “Khloé is always so positive, but this brought her down a little. She has always been into giving Tristan tons of chances and deep down held out hope that they would maybe get back together one day. There is no hope and it’s really done for now, but she thinks it’s for the best.”
