More details have come out about Lance Reddick’s sudden death.

As we previously reported, the John Wick star unexpectedly died last month at the age of 60. Lance’s wife, Stephanie Reddick, reportedly called 911 after finding him passed out in the backyard of their home in Studio City on March 17. However, he did not end up making it. So, so sad.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that his death appeared to be from natural causes, but no other details were provided at the time. And now, we are finally learning the official cause of his death. According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ on Thursday, the late actor passed away from “ischemic heart disease” and “atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.” This is heartbreaking to hear, especially since he was only 60 years old. The document also noted that Lance was going to be cremated after he died.

Since his death, Lance has been remembered by several of his family and friends, including his John Wick co-star Keanu Reeves. His wife also took a moment to publicly mourn The Wire star on Instagram, saying:

“Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them. And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game.”

He truly will be missed. Our hearts continue to go out to his family as they mourn this loss.
