June is here which means a bunch of new titles are coming to all of our favorite streaming platforms. One favorite of mine is HBO Max, which has some of Criterion’s horror titles, including The Brood, and 90s classic The Faculty. While the list is a little short this month, HBO Max is still bringing us some absolute bangers this month.

The title I am personally most excited to come to the streamer is the 2009 Australian horror film Daybreakers. The film stars Ethan Hawke as a vampire hematologist trying to find a blood substitute. See, vampires are the dominant species on Earth now, but they are quickly running out of human blood. Hawke’s character deeply resents being a vampire and refuses to drink the stuff. He then encounters a group of human survivors and tries to help save the human race.

Another must-see is the 2018 Swedish horror fantasy film Border. Tina is a border patrol agent with an incredible sense of smell. At home, she’s married to a cruel man who manipulates and uses her. But, when she meets a man named Vore, she begins to discover the truth about who she really is.

Check out the full list of films coming to HBO Max this month:

  • Assassination Nation
  • Border
  • Colossal
  • Daybreakers
  • I Know What You Did Last Summer
  • I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
  • I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
  • Total Recall

If you’re looking for a slasher franchise to devour, then HBO Max has you covered with all three I Know What You Did Last Summer movies. Yes, quality is not consistent. But if you love urban legend horror and watching teens get decimated, they’re worth a watch.

Also, a word of warning, there are a few horror films leaving the streamer at the end of the month. Titles include Amityville 3-D, Amityville II: The Possession, and the classic Brendan Fraser star vehicle, The Mummy.
