Hi Ben, please tell us how all of this started for you?

Benjamin- South Jersey Horror is the podcast. I started the podcast because I’ve always enjoyed horror movies, and I thought maybe other people would like to know what I think about particular movies. I started by doing reviews, and then I was contacted by people that wanted to sponsor me, and they wanted me to be a part of their platforms.

You are a Veteran too. Thank you so much for your service.

Benjamin- It’s been an honor serving the country. I served fourteen and a half years and I thought, it’s time for me to be done.

There is a fundraiser up for the veterans also. Is that still active?

Benjamin- Yes that is on the site. I haven’t taken it down.

Did you grow up watching horror movies?

Benjamin- It started when I was about eight or nine years old? My parents rented the movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street from Blockbuster back in the day. I figured okay; I’ll give it a shot. There is a particular scene in the movie by Wes Craven. He dubbed it the “Poltergeist” scene. You know the scene where Tina is being thrown around the room. I had some nightmares for a while, and I had to watch a Disney movie just to get it out of my head. I saw Hellraiser too. Me and my friend snuck into the theater to watch Hellraiser. That’s when I fell in love with horror.

You write, produce, and create this amazing podcast. Would you ever consider making a film?

Benjamin- It’s all improvisation. I’d love to star in a movie one day. That would be great.

What’s your favorite aspect of the podcast?

Benjamin- My favorite aspect would be that I get to be myself, and my own boss. I’m doing what makes me happy.

How long have you been working on the podcast?

Benjamin- I started back in 2020. I was sitting in my apartment one day, and I said I think I’m going to start a podcast, and my wife just gave me two thumbs up. She said, go for it.

What advice or words of wisdom would you offer?

Benjamin- It’s easy to start a podcast. I’s my self and I had no clue what I was doing. Anchor FM makes it so easy.

Oh, I love Anchor FM. I have a podcast that’s a work in progress but Congratulations to you. I love this podcast. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me for Horrornews.net

Benjamin- Thank you so much.
