Thanksgiving horror is few and far between, y’all. So, any new holiday horror is always welcome. While we wait for Eli Roth to finally give fans what they have been dying for since the release of Grindhouse, we are always open to any and all Thanksgiving-based terror. Amityville Thanksgiving is exactly that.
You can tell that this one is going to be a campy mixed bag. Obviously, there is a huge amount of Jersey Shore injected into this one. The entire cast seems to be right off the shore. Which is already a strange choice, but a hilarious one, so I’m with it. I’m also a bit confused about where the Amityville bit is coming from. I was looking for the big haunted house but didn’t see that either.
The synopsis for Amityville Thanksgiving goes like this:
Trending8 Great Horror Movies Still to Come in 2022
“A struggling couple visits a marriage counselor for a holiday as a last resort. Soon after, they realize he has sinister intentions that may make this thanksgiving their last.“
Well, that’s a wild synopsis too. It doesn’t seem very themed to the holiday. Like, I didn’t see any turkeys or pilgrims or anything that would scream Thanksgiving. Unless you have family in Jersey and are going to go visit them during the holiday, I don’t see how it would tie into holiday horror exactly.
All that said, I’m still going to give it a chance. Like I mentioned above, I have been really starved for some gobble, gobble holiday-based horror. So, if this is what we have to offer, let it be.
Get ready to “get stuffed mother clucker” when Amityville Thanksgiving arrives on November 8.
