Louise Weard Untitled Castration Movie

Yeah, you read that headline right. Louise Weard, director of films such as Computer Hearts and one of the leading voices in trans horror cinema, is making a new movie after a ten-year hiatus. And she’s back with a six-and-a-half-hour trans exploitation epic about castration, trans identity, sex, and so much more.

According to the Kickstarter, “The movie follows a trans woman named Michaela “Traps” Sinclair, a sex worker in Vancouver who splits her time between seeing clients and hanging out with her group of trans friends. As the weight of the world piles up on her she decides to reclaim some sense of control by seeking out a back alley orchiectomy.”

Currently going simply by Untitled Louise Weard Castration Movie, the film is an adaptation of Weard’s short film S.I.D.S. but with a more melodramatic spin. The feature will be shot on Hi8 consumer video.

Also revealed in the Kickstarter is that Weard is working with The People’s Joker director Vera Drew on a feature adaptation of Alison Rumfitt’s debut novel Tell Me I’m Worthless. It tells the story of a haunted house, two friends, transphobia, fascism, and the hatred that lurks in the corner of our minds.

If you want to support what Weard describes as “a trans girl exploitation movie full of sex and violence filtered through a DIY underground aesthetic”, donate to the Kickstarter here.
