Satanic 568x319 - 'Satanic Hispanics': Latino Horror Anthology From Dread Receives September Theatrical Release

We are excited to announce the award-winning Dread title Satanic Hispanics will receive a theatrical release this September in collaboration with Iconic Events. Deadline broke the news earlier today that the highly anticipated release will hit 800 screens across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The directors with segments featured in Satanic Hispanics are a must-follow ensemble of Latino talent working in horror today. They include Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!), Demian Rugna (Terrified), Eduardo Sánchez (The Blair Witch Project), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell), andAlejandro Brugues (Juan of the Dead).

In the film, when police raid a house in El Paso, they find it full of dead Latinos, and only one survivor. He’s known as The Traveler, and when they take him to the station for questioning, he tells them those lands are full of magic and talks about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth, about portals to other worlds, mythical creatures, demons, and the undead.

“We are deeply grateful to have worked with such incredible talent on Satanic Hispanics,” shared Epic Pictures and Dread CEO/owner Patrick Ewald, who also produced the film. “With Iconic as our partner in the theatrical release, I can only hope that audiences will have as much fun watching the film as we did making it.”

“This movie is very special for us,” said Brugues, who directed a segment in the film and also acts as producer. “The first all-Latino horror anthology, made by some of the best horror directors representing us from all corners of Latin America, and focused on telling our stories. We couldn’t be happier having Iconic Events joining us in unleashing our Latino mayhem on you during Hispanic Heritage month.”

Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite), Greg Gunberg (Star Wars IX), Jacob Vargas (Sons Of Anarchy), Hemky Madera (Weeds), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy), Jonah Ray Rodrigues, Demian Salomon, Luis Machin, and Ari Allegos star in the film.

Real ones will remember Satanic Hispanics taking home the award for Best Director(s) under the horror category at Fantastic Fest, which was also the film’s World Premiere.
