Prime Video has been delivering a lot of weird, wild, and watchable original genre content this year. Their streak has been truly iconic so far. So, we are not surprised that the #1 thriller series on Prime Video today is their latest disturbing drop: Dead Ringers.
In the series, the Mantle twins, identical from head to toe, are on a mission to change the way women give birth.
Dead Ringers was adapted for television by Alice Birch. It stars Rachel Weisz, Britne Oldford, and Poppy Liu. It is based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 film of the same name. All six episodes landed on Prime Video on April 21st.

Both the David Cronenberg film and series are inspired by the novel Twins by Bari Woods and Jack Geasland. The book was a highly fictionalized version of the lives of Stewart and Cyril Marcus. Both men left behind a mysterious legacy that has had people asking questions for decades.
Viewers have taken to Twitter because the show starts weird and only gets stranger. Fans are also obsessed with everything Rachel Weisz does as two twin gynecologists.

There is some messed up shit going down in #DeadRinger, but nothing is more disturbing than a choir full of privileged rich white kids singing Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’.

We’re always here for a Rachel Weisz renaissance. We also know that any show working with a David Cronenberg movie as the foundation is going to be the moment. So, we’re already planning to make this show our new personality.
