Silver Shamrock….

The 3rd Channel

Hey Bloodhounds and Gore Babes!… wait… whatever, it works. It’s your pal Giallo getting in your way yet again! Now that I have your attention, I think it’d be a good time to elucidate on a neat upcoming indie-horror project based on everyone’s favorite entry from a slasher franchise—Halloween III: Season of the Witch!

Honestly, if I had to choose one movie from the Halloween series to watch, it’d be this one. I feel it really captures the whole “Halloween aesthetic” and is perfectly creepy for the holiday. Plus, a bunch of kids have their heads turned into bugs and snakes… which in the context of film, is pretty fucking rad!

Writer/director Michelle Lynn Blasky feels the same way! So much so, that she got a crew together to make an unofficial sequel to the film titled The 3rd Channel.

The film’s story goes as so:

“Jessica Kelly, 24, is a recent mechanical engineering graduate working a deadend job until a mysteriously charming man shows up at her work telling her about a very odd inheritance. Conflicted when her own investigation leads her back to her family’s history, her life is about to change forever. “

It seems like we’re not quite finished with Silver Shamrock Novelties just yet! Pair that with a talented team of creators, and it sounds like this might be worth keeping an eye on. We’re talking about John Altyn (Sleepaway Camp 2, Sleepaway Camp 3), Keith McCoy (The Way of Darkness – A Tribute to John Carpenter), and Steve Merlo(The Sawyer Massacre) all pitching in to help the film’s production.

According to Blasky:

“The 3rd Channel is feature-length. The filming will take place in the same location as the original: Loleta, CA.  I want to be authentic to the original, keeping a lot of the same cinematic technics and style. And a few… Trade Secrets.”

If this sounds like a treat to you, check out its Indiegogo page hereand consider donating a few bucks to help support its creation. As for myself, I’m looking forward to seeing what Halloween horror this team is going to conjure up!

Until next time…

Ciao, friends!
