Rob Zombie is finally shooting ‘The Munsters’! Check out his latest post now.
Rob Zombie is back on Instagram with another cool update from the set of The Munsters. The director has been teasing the pre-production journey for his passion project since July. The shock-rocker is finally behind the camera as shooting for project is officially underway.
The newest tease from the highly anticipated movie is tech-heavy, featuring cameras, monitors, logo-glad chairs, and general BTS madness. We can tell how psyched the filmmaker is to get rolling on this feature, and we’re excited to see what he cooks up this winter.

It was only a few weeks ago that we learned of the main casting for the reboot, and no surprises were made. Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects) is playing matriarch Lily Munster. Jeff Daniel Philips (The Lords of Salem) is taking on Herman Munster, whose clay-sculpted headpiece had been previously shared via Rob Zombie’s Instagram. And finally, we’ve got Daniel Roebuck (3 From Hell) as Count/Grandpa Munster.
The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together the group played the average nuclear American family… except for the fact that they were literal monsters.
Zombie is a tried and true household horror name. Beyond his extensive music career, he has already directed a handful of hotly debated genre classics. The critically acclaimed House of 1000 Corpses and the 2007 remake of Halloween, for instance, remain extremely polarizing to this day.
