It’s been a big year for the yellow bear. In May Dread Central was the first to report on a strange indie horror adaptation of the classic childhood stories from ITN Studios and Jagged Edged Productions titled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. The project soon went viral after that initial post, and now the exciting project is actually landing in cinemas. But the catch? It’s for one night only.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Fathom Events is set to release the slasher horror — from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield — for a one-day event across hundreds of U.S. theaters on Feb. 15. Meanwhile, Altitude has acquired Blood and Honey for the U.K., Mexican chain Cinemex has plans to put it on several hundred screens and in Canada the Cineplex chain is releasing the film.”

Earlier this year Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the writer-director behind, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey sat down with Dread Central’s Development Hell podcast to reveal some of the nastier moments you can expect to see in this mysterious new horror film.

Frake-Waterfield is producing alongside Scott Jeffrey while Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland executive produce. The cast includes Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor and Danielle Scott.

Winnie the Pooh began as a literary teddy bear created by author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shepard. Pooh became a household name when Walt Disney Productions turned him into a film star. Pooh then entered the public domain earlier this year. Now the bear is back and he sure seems pissed.
